Fulham Roof Terrace

ER Group were asked to create an Ibiza style terrace for our clients. Their property in Fulham, had no access to the roof space prior to us beginning the project. The design that ER Group created called for a new door to be built out of an existing window that would access a brand new terrace area to be built in the location of an existing pitched roof.

Once the pitched roof had been removed and a suitable flat roof built, our team were able to construct an innovative terrace complete with high tech railings and iDecking system.

Despite challenging planning issues, our design and install team were able to complete this project to the exact specification that the client requested bringing an Ibiza Terrace to London!

Project Highlights

There were a number of stand-out features we were pleased to be able to implement in this project:

Full height glass panels surround the terrace. Building regulations stipulate that these should have a handrail installed at 1,100mm off the ground. The client did not want handrails as these would spoil the aesthetic appeal of the glass. Instead, we were able to successfully test and install glass that met wind load values in excess of building regulations thereby removing the need for handrails.
With no access onto the roof, we were able to convert a dormer window into a full height door from the clients kitchen giving easy access to the terrace.
